Year 5 English - The Lost Thing

This term in English, we have been exploring The Lost Thing by Shaun Tan. The children thoroughly enjoyed reading the book and watching the animated film, which inspired them to create their own imaginative Lost Things. Using their creations as inspiration, they wrote their own narratives, developing their writing skills by incorporating modal verbs, fronted adverbials, expanded noun phrases and the past progressive tense. The children showed fantastic creativity and enthusiasm throughout the unit, producing some beautiful written work and imaginative illustrations. We have been incredibly proud of their efforts!
