Year 3 narrative writing
BackThis week, in Year 3 we have been planning and writing a narrative story. We have been inspired by the current english text, The Pied Piper of Hamelin by Michael Morpurgo. The story is a magical retelling of the traditional tale, in which the people of Hamelin face a serious problem with rats and a mysterious stranger arrives in the town offering to help.
The children have been learning how to write a myth-like story, based on the idea of a mysterious stranger arriving in a town to solve a problem. They have used ideas from the story to develop their own characters, settings and problems and have written their own myth-like story.
We hope you enjoy reading their stories together and seeing the fantastic ideas they have developed when they bring them home!
