Year 2 English – The Journey Home

In English, Year 2 have been exploring the book The Journey Home. Throughout the unit, the children have developed their writing skills by practising different sentence types, including commands, exclamations and questions. They have written exciting descriptions of the endangered animals embarking on their journey, using a range of adjectives. The children have also created Wanted posters for the hunters and woodcutters who are putting these animals at risk, thinking carefully about how their writing can persuade others to protect wildlife. We have been very impressed with the children's creativity and enthusiasm throughout this unit!
