BackDesign and Technology – Bread Making
This term in DT, Year 5 became expert bakers! The children explored the fascinating world of bread by learning about the ingredients that make bread, how bread is made and the wide variety of breads enjoyed around the world.
They investigated the origins of different breads and learnt how breads can vary in shape, texture and flavour depending on ingredients and methods used. The highlight of the unit was designing and making their own bread creations. The classroom was filled with delicious smells as the children carefully prepared, shaped and baked their breads.
To celebrate their hard work, parents were invited in to sample the breads and provide feedback. The children were incredibly proud of their creations and loved sharing their learning and baking skills with visitors.
