Pre-school Caterpillars and Butterflies

In Preschool, our topic this half term has been “The Garden,” and we have been learning about the different creatures that live in our gardens. The children have particularly enjoyed finding out about caterpillars and butterflies and learning all about their fascinating life cycle. We were very lucky to have our very own caterpillars in class and watched with excitement as they grew, formed their chrysalises and eventually transformed into beautiful butterflies. This hands-on experience helped the children to understand the process of growth and change in living things. Although we were sad to say goodbye, the children learnt the importance of releasing the butterflies back into their natural environment so they could continue to explore and thrive in nature.
