States of matter in Year 4.

In Science, the children have been learning about the properties of solids, liquids and gases as part of our Year 4 topic on states of matter. They explored how materials can change state through heating and cooling, learning about processes such as melting, freezing, evaporation and condensation. The children carried out a variety of practical experiments to observe these changes first-hand, including investigating how temperature affects materials and exploring the water cycle. They used labelled scientific diagrams and written explanations to support their reasoning and predictions, while also developing their understanding of key scientific vocabulary such as particles, temperature, evaporation and condensation. The children demonstrated excellent curiosity, teamwork and scientific thinking throughout the topic.D5c150dc 4274 431d ba00 bc51d4572165Cafbbf5b acda 4561 a268 8029879274ef529f8135 31f8 45ad 83b9 f3910052633216b84d9c 8de1 44d9 ab66 a6477054980614cd7a6e c747 4007 ba71 8a216520a7b1
