Y1 English

This term, our Year 1 children have been thoroughly engaged in their English learning through the story Beegu. The excitement began when a spaceship was discovered to have landed on the school grounds, and the children found Beegu, who was lost in our school. They wrote thoughtful lost posters to help find her and later composed caring letters, showing empathy for Beegu as she felt lonely and missed her family. 

The children were delighted to discover, through CCTV footage, that Beegu had read their letter and enjoyed an orange they had left behind. Inspired by the story, they then went on to create and write their own imaginative stories using their own made-up characters.
