In Art this half term, Year 2 have been exploring the exciting technique of printing. The children looked at the work of famous artists Rembrandt and David Hockney, learning how both artists used printing to create detailed and colourful artwork. Inspired by their work, the children designed their own printing plates using cardboard. They carefully drew a template, glued string onto their design to create raised lines and textures, then applied paint before making their prints. The children enjoyed experimenting with pattern, texture and colour to produce their own unique pieces of art.
