Year 4 DT Pop-up books
BackYear 4 Pop-up books.
This half term in Year 4, the children have been exploring the exciting world of Design and Technology by creating their very own pop-up books. Inspired by a range of creative ideas, they have learned about different mechanisms and how these can be used to bring stories and scenes to life.
Throughout the half term, the children have experimented with a variety of techniques, including flaps, sliders, and more complex pop-up structures. They carefully designed their pages, thinking about how each mechanism would work and how it could enhance their storytelling.
In DT, the children developed their skills in planning, measuring, cutting, and assembling, showing great perseverance and attention to detail. They evaluated their designs as they went along, making improvements to ensure their mechanisms worked smoothly and effectively.
By the end of the project, each child had created a unique and imaginative pop-up page to add to their group book, showcasing the different mechanisms they had learned. Year 4 have shown fantastic creativity, problem-solving skills, and enthusiasm throughout this topic and should be very proud of their achievements!
