World book day 2026 - Who let the dogs out?!

We had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day at Flamstead End! Children came to school dressed as characters from 101 Dalmatians, creating a wonderful sea of spotted costumes across the school.

Throughout the day we enjoyed our “Drop and Read” moments, where the bell rang and everyone stopped what they were doing to read for 101 seconds.

Classes were also visited by different teachers who shared their favourite children’s stories, and pupils loved trying to guess which staff members were behind the disguises in our “Masked Reader” challenge.

The celebrations continued with our extreme reading competition, where children shared photos of themselves reading in unusual places. It was a brilliant day full of stories, imagination and a shared love of reading!
