Subject: Year 3 Published Writing Coming Home

Dear Year 3 Parents and Carers,

This week, your child will be bringing home their published writing based on our class text The Wilderness. This story by Steve McCarthy is a thoughtful picture book about a young boy who explores a wild, mysterious place filled with strange creatures and feelings. As he journeys through the wilderness, he learns about bravery, friendship and understanding others. The book encourages children to think about emotions, problem solving and how kindness and curiosity can help us navigate unfamiliar situations. It has supported our class discussions and the children's imaginative thinking.

The children have used this text as inspiration to create their own guide to the wilderness. They have worked incredibly hard, and we are very proud of their creativity and effort.
