Building Friendships Through Buddy Reading

We’re excited to be introducing our new buddy sessions, a wonderful opportunity for children across different year groups to connect, share stories, and build friendships.

On this occasion the focus of the sessions will was on:

• Listening to each other read

• Talking about favourite books and authors

• Sharing excitement about the upcoming World Book Day

• Getting to know their buddies and building positive relationship

These buddy sessions will continue throughout the year with the same class pairings, but with a variety of different activities. The aim is to strengthen our whole-school community and give younger pupils the chance to look up to, learn from, and be supported by older mentors.

We look forward to seeing friendships grow, confidence build, and a shared love of reading flourish across the school.
