Implementation:

Through our PE curriculum, we ensure that:

  • Children are nurtured to feel confident and resilient to strive for their personal best.
  • Children are provided with a range of active experiences and clubs to promote an interest in learning new skills.
  • Children can obtain the values and skills to celebrate and respect the success of others, whilst modestly celebrating their own.
  • Children develop a greater understanding on how to live healthy lifestyles and make healthy choices.
  • Children acquire the skills and mindset to positively engage in sporting challenges and an active lifestyle beyond primary school.

Sporting round up for Spring 1

It has been a busy half term for sport at Flamstead End, with sports matches and tournaments well underway. At the end of January, some of our Year 5 and 6 pupils went to Fairfields to compete in netball and football matches. All the children represented the school well, showing passion, determination and good team spirit. The Year 5 football team won their match 2-0, with the Year 6 football team being narrowly defeated in a close fought match. Unfortunately, the netball team didn't win their match either, but they showed a lot of skill and technique throughout the whole game, making us very proud.

Last week, the Year 6 boys represented the school brilliantly in the local school’s football tournament at Goffs Academy. They faced stiff competition from 13 other schools! The team showed a lot of team spirit and really showcased their cooperation skills. They communicated well and supported each other to end the tournament in 4th place, a fabulous result.

This week it was the turn of the girls’ football team to represent the school in their tournament at Goffs Academy. They also faced some very stiff competition but showcased their skills to make it all the way to the quarter finals, which is another great achievement.

Well done to all the students who participated in these matches and events, you have represented the school with pride.

Next half term there are even more sporting opportunities, with both matches and tournaments and also some planned enrichment events for the school.
