Our intent for Computing 

Computing is an area that is constantly changing and is increasingly becoming an essential part of our everyday lives. Our principle aim at Flamstead End is to provide all pupils with the opportunity to develop their Computing capability to their full potential, through a stimulating and challenging curriculum.

Implementation:

Our Computing curriculum enables all pupils to develop key computing learning skills, as set out by the national curriculum to ensure that all pupils:

  • can understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science, including abstraction, logic, algorithms and data representation
  • can analyse problems in computational terms, and have repeated practical experience of writing computer programs in order to solve such problems
  • can evaluate and apply information technology, including new or unfamiliar technologies, analytically to solve problems
