World Book Day
Outfits
This year we would like the children to dress up as a character from the ‘101 dalmatians’. Throughout the day there will be activities and at the end of the day we will have a whole school picture which will be on display so you can have a go at finding your own dalmatian amongst the crowd.
Drop and Read
Bring in your favourite book to read! Then throughout the day, the school bell will ring at various points meaning everyone stops whatever lesson they’re doing and read for 101 seconds!
Teachers reading
In the afternoon, the children will be visited by different teachers who will come in and read from their own favourite children’s book.
Masked reader
Just like the TV show the masked singer, staff members at Flamstead End will be donning disguises and recording videos of themselves reading stories.
Extreme reading competitionWe would also love your child to take a photo of themselves reading in extreme or unusual reading locations. The more extreme or unusual the better! Get your parents involved to help with the photos. Winners will be chosen on world book day so please get your entries in well before then. Please send any entries to admin@flamsteadend.herts.sch.uk
Book fair
After the success of our book fair earlier on in the year, we will be hosting another book fair after school from 9th and 10th March. From the sales, the book publishers will donate money to our school so we can then buy more books for our libraries.
