Our intent for Geography

At Flamstead End School, through our teaching of geography, we hope that pupils will increase their knowledge and understanding of the changing world and will want to look after the Earth and its resources. We hope that they will begin to develop respect and concern for, and an interest in, people throughout the world regardless of culture, race and religion.

Implementation:

In Geography lessons:

  • Children’s interest in and curiosity about their surroundings is stimulated;
  • Children develop a sense of wonder about the world;
  • Children are inspired by a sense of responsibility for the environments and people of the world we live in;
  • Children gain competence in specific geographical skills;
  • Children remember and increase their key knowledge and awareness of the world;
  • Children acquire and develop the skills and confidence to undertake investigation, problem solving and decision-making.

This is what Geography looks like at Flamstead End.....
