Design Technology

Our intent for Design Technology

We provide opportunities in Design Technology for children to learn through a variety of creative and practical activities. We enable them to develop the skills needed to engage in an investigative process of designing and making. Where possible these experiences should be adaptable and practical, with a wider range of evaluative techniques used throughout a topic.

Implementation

We ensure that our pupils: 

• Develop individual ideas.
• Use investigative skills to solve practical problems.
• Research and emulate successful projects.
• Develop a wide range of making, joining, fixing techniques.
• Develop their own problem solving strategies.
• Evaluate and learn from practical experiences.
