Netball Match v Fairfields
The netball team once again showed great spirit and resilience whilst playing a match away against Fairfields. The team tried so hard, worked well as a team and were incredibly determined, even when the match was not going their way. In the end, despite some fantastic play, the team lost 10-7. However, they showed how much they have learnt this year, showcasing some great skills. They should be very proud of their performance. Well done.
Girls Football Tournament
The girls of Flamstead End excelled at their first tournament as a football team. With the size of the pitch being triple what they are used to, the girls adapted very quickly, positioning themselves well across the pitch to be a driving force towards their goal. The girls were defeated in their first match but thanks to their tenacity and team work, went on to win the following three matches with 2 or 3 goals to none. The girls came 4th place out of an overall 8 and for this being their third competitive play, we could not be more proud of how far they have come with their football skills to achieve this placing. Well done to all of you!
Our Football A team played a 7 aside football tournament at Goffs Academy on Wednesday 26th February, playing a total of 6 games against local schools. Playing with passion and determination, the boys managed to accumulate a total of 6 points by winning one of their games, drawing 2 and losing the rest by only one goal or two. We were immensely proud of how they represented Flamstead End with their honesty and good sportsmanship throughout the event.
Netball Match v Cuffley
The netball team showed great spirit and determination whilst playing a match at home against Cuffley. The team got off to a successful start and were winning at the end of the second quarter. They continued to play a great game, showcasing all of the skills that they have learnt and won the match 10-0. Four members of our team even swapped on to play for the opposing team as they didn’t have enough players. The girls showed really good teamwork skills and represented Flamstead End School brilliantly
YEAR 5 FOOTBALL V FAIRFIELDS SCHOOL
The year 5 footballers were back in action Thursday evening with a derby match against local rivals Fairfields. After a strong start, we were unlucky to go a goal down and finished the half losing one nil. After a motivational half time team talk, the boys stormed out and quickly got an equaliser through George after he completed a mazy run ending with a great finish. The year 5s could taste glory and pushed for a winner but were hit with a killer blow as the Fairfield team mounted a counter attack and nicked another goal making the game 2-1 to Fairfields. Our year 5 team are filled with resilience though and did not let this affect them. We played well and fought to the bitter end and were rewarded for our efforts when with the last kick of the game, Harrison appeared from nowhere and nearly burst a hole in the net with a fine strike from close range. 2-2!
Great game year 5s!
YEAR 6 FOOTBALL V DEWHURST ST MARY’S SCHOOL
Well done to the Year 6 children who participated in the football match on Tuesday 12th November against Dewhurst. Although the team lost 3-1, they put in a wonderful performance, particularly in the second half, and were unlucky not to score more goals. Well done to all of the players
GIRLS FOOTBALL V GOFF’S OAK
The Girls football team faced their second away match against Goff's Oak this week and for some members of the team, this was their own debut! The girls played a tough first half with Goffs scoring 6 goals against us but this did not dampen the passion and team spirit of FES who continued to play with conviction and scored a glorious goal. Despite a 7-1 defeat, the girls all played fantastically and we are very proud of the team.
