In Nursery and Reception children looked at how colour can change in a Skittle investigation. KS1 have explored what materials were best to make a birds nest, how to make different sounds using water bottles, found ways to melt ice and made their own erupting volcano. All the children enjoyed being Scientists for the afternoon
In Key Stage 2, the children loved taking part in a wide range of practical Science activities as part of British Science Week 2018. Year 3 and 4 enjoyed using an augmented reality app to search for mini-beasts, creating bird’s nests, testing material absorbency and using Lego to build bridges. Year 5 and 6 created lava lamps, investigated outdoor animal environments, combed beaches for harmful rubbish and worked out how liquid effects momentum of objects. The children have gained lots of new knowledge, they can use in future Science topics.
