CPRE Hertfordshire Children’s Art Competition
Mrs Watford and Mrs Palmer were pleased to join Alexey and his mother on Tuesday 16th October at County Hall for the CPRE Hertfordshire Art Competition presentation. They watched proudly as Alexey received his certificate and voucher for his winning painting. They also got the opportunity to meet Deputy Mayor Cllr Steve Wortley, a former pupil himself of Flamstead End, who congratulated Alexey on his achievement.
The Hertfordshire Campaign to Protect Rural Britain annual art competition was open to children from Preschool to Year 6.
This year’s competition was based on The Sky at Night and the national campaign against light pollution. The concern they raise is that, even in the countryside, genuine dark starry nights are becoming harder to find. Security lights, floodlights and streetlights all break into the darkness and create a veil of light across the night sky.
