This week in Year 5...
As part of the new Year 5 approach to learning, this half term, Year 5 will be basing their English lessons around the topic of 'The Anglo-Saxons'. Take a look at the poetry framework they are working on at the moment….
The children had a fantastic time when they became Anglo Saxons for the day! They participated in various activities, where they learnt what everyday life was like in a typical settlement. Later they acted as archaeologists, looking for historic artefacts within soil samples. To see more images visit our Image Gallery...
If your child is an enthusiastic learner or they simply love a challenge then point them towards these optional extra termly homework. They can attempt as many of them as they like and take as long as they need to complete them. The class teachers will run a termly year group celebration assembly where we'll showcase and celebrate their efforts!
